The Forca Rossa Pass is the saddle which links the Franzedaz Valley to Fuciade and San Pellegrino area. This excursion is one of the most beautiful both in winter and in summer. The Pass is reachable during a wonderful trekking or riding a mountain bike in summertime, its the best place to practice ski mountaineering or snowshoeing in winter.

Fantastic route on the south side of the famous Marmolada. From Passo San Pellegrino (1918m), the trail first leads to Refuge Fuciade (1982m, following a section of de Alta Via 2 Dolomiti. Then, it continues past Forca Rossa (2477m) and along the Franzedàs road to Malga Ombretta. From here, thenhike proceed along the Pettorina stream, to reach Refuge Onorio Falier (2074m).

Descrizione Partendo dal parcheggio in loc. Valfredda nel comune di Falcade in Veneto, si attraversa la meravigliosa Valfredda percorrendo una strada forestale in leggera pendenza. Raggiunto il bivio che segnala il sentiero che conduce alla Malga ai Lach, si prosegue invece in direzione Forca Rossa.

Forca Rossa is about half way to Passo di San Pellegrino and it's all uphill to get there. Malga Ciapela is at 1450 meters and Forca Rossa 2490 so you'll be facing more than a kilometer's worth of vertical! Although it's not really "that much", it turned out to be surprisingly strenuous for us.
